NC Opportunity Scholarship Program
Terra Ceia Christian School participates in the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship Program. Families may apply beginning January 31st for the 2021-22 Academic Year. All families must apply through the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority website. Please click through this link North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority to apply.
North Carolina Opportunity Scholarships are administered by the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority. The NCSEAA establishes their own criteria for awarding Opportunity Scholarships. Terra Ceia Christian School is not involved in determining who receives Opportunity Scholarships. However, please note that North Carolina Opportunity Scholarships will be accepted as partial payment for tuition at Terra Ceia Christian School. Parents will also be required to pay the tuition difference between the scholarship funding and the actual cost of tuition plus an enrollment fee of $300 per family. Please note that families electing to transport their children using Terra Ceia Christian School’s bus service, will be required to pay the additional bus fees. Bus fees are not covered by North Carolina Opportunity Scholarships.
2021-22 North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship Program Income Eligibility
*Household can include anyone residing in the same household as you. For example, this could mean a grandmother or aunt residing in your residence.
All families must apply through the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority website
Additionally, at least one of the criteria below must be met:

Received this scholarship the previous year

Student must have been enrolled in a North Carolina public school for the current academic year.

Is entering kindergarten or first grade

Is a child in foster care

Is a child whose adoption decree was entered no more than a year prior to applying for the scholarship
NC Disabilities Grant Program
The Disabilities Grant Program is NOT income based. Information regarding the program including applicant eligibility and other guidelines is listed on the website:

You are eligible to apply if your child has been tested by the NC Public School System within the past 3 years, and has been determined to have a speech or learning disability. The documentation showing this is the Eligibility Determination Form (DEC3 or ECATS).
The Disabilities Grant Program is a program for eligible students with disabilities in Kindergarten through 12th grade to provide an option for parents to pay tuition, fees, and some other expenses at participating schools. This program can provide up to $8,000 per student per year.
The 2021-22 new student application opens January 31, 2021, with a priority deadline of March 15, 2021.
Education Savings Account (ESA)
Two programs are available to meet the financial needs of students with disabilities: The Disabilities Grant and the Education Savings Account (ESA). Families can apply for more than one program. View a side by side comparison and requirements for each program.
The ESA provides up to $9,000 per year for students with disabilities who enroll in a participating nonpublic (private or home) school.
- Covers tuition and fees
- Covers expenses related to educating a child with a disability
- No out-of-pocket expenses (provides families with an electronic debit account to pay tuition and expenses)
Funds can be used for school tuition, as well as for expenses such as speech or occupational therapy, tutoring services, and educational technology.
